The Soterix Medical 1 × 1-LTE is the only tDCS device optimized for susceptible populations with features optimized to reduce anxiety and sensation, including SmartScan ™, Relax ™ and Tickle ™. In addition, with a unique feature of Soterix Medical LTE ™, it makes it the most intelligent transient and power management system for currents up to 1.5 mA.
The total limited energy for tDCS (LTE-tDCS) was developed exclusively by Soterix engineers. LTE limits the voltage and power required for tDCS through the use of adaptive boost stimulation and intelligent power management for currents up to 1.5 mA. The Soterix Medical 1 × 1 tDCS-LTE includes the most advanced transient protection in the industry, an electrode that temporarily disconnects, for example, due to the subject's movement. In addition, if the resistance increases to atypical levels, the LTE-tDCS will automatically reduce the applied current to maintain a low voltage.

The difference between conventional tDCS and tDCS-LTE is that conventional tDCS applies a fixed ramp slope, while tDCS-LTE varies the ramp intensity to limit the power supply. Soterix tDCS-LTE also limits the energy transients that can occur during tDCS due to sudden changes in resistance. TDCS-LTE further improves the abortion protection features already enabled on all Soterix 1×1 devices. Finally, tDCS-LTE alerts the operator when a high power condition occurs and automatically activates LTE to reduce energy consumption.

The resources of Soterix Medical 1 × 1 have been optimized by our biomedical engineers, in partnership with leading TBI rehabilitation clinics and pediatric neurologists. Designed for simple setup, provide intelligent warning of a fault condition and allow adjustment for patient comfort, these features facilitate reliable and tolerated tDCS. The Soterix Medical SmartScan ™ feature is central to all Soterix tDCS devices to enable reliable configuration and monitoring. The Relax ™, Tickle ™ and TrueCurrent ™ innovations were developed for the tDCS 1 × 1 platforms. Limited Total Energy (LTE ™) is available exclusively on the 1 × 1-LTE platform.

Advanced transient protection if an electrode is temporarily disconnected. The LTE-tDCS will automatically reduce the applied current in order to maintain a low voltage if the resistance increases to atypical levels.
Provides a continuous visual indication of the electrode quality before and during stimulation.
From pre-stimulation configuration, during stimulation monitoring, to post-stimulation confirmation, the Soterix Medical SmartScan ™ feature provides an intuitive and clear indication of the quality of the electrode contact. Use SmartScan ™ during setup to adjust the electrodes and main gear for optimal fit. During stimulation, SmartScan ™ provides a constant indication of electrode quality and can be monitored during adjustments (for example, adding saline to the drying electrodes). After stimulation, SmartScan ™ confirms a successful attempt. Since "resistance" is not significant for tDCS, SmartScan ™ was developed by engineers at Soterix Medical to provide clinical investigators with an easy-to-read indication of contact quality.

What other devices promise, the tDCS 1 × 1 offers. The backlit display can be monitored during stimulation acceleration to confirm that the desired current intensity has been reached.
It can be used to provide a very weak current before ETCC to help condition the skin.
Tickle ™ can be used to condition the skin before ETCC and for naive individuals eager for stimulation. A custom on-off waveform pattern creates a light and brief sensation under the electrodes.
It allows the doctor to use a simple sliding bar to temporarily decrease the current from the predefined value, for example, based on the subject's feedback.
Based on feedback from leading clinical centers, Soterix Medical's exclusive RELAX ™ feature accommodates individuals who may be anxious when pacing is initiated or during the course of pacing. The RELAX ™ slider can be adjusted from full to reduced intensity based on the subject's perception, without interrupting or aborting stimulation.
Simple and intelligent sham waveforms.
A simulated automatic stimulation feature that is activated via a simple switch. Auto-sham calculated automatically and produces a sham waveform based on the indicated "real" waveform. For example, for a corresponding actual waveform of 1.5 mA and 10 minutes. auto-sham will provide a ramp up / down to 1.5 mA at the start of stimulation, and again after 10 minutes, with the timer automatically set so that the total execution time corresponds exactly to the real case. Based on the Soterix Medical Open-Panel ™ design principle: no complicated programming or hidden drop-down menus required.

The Soterix Neurotargeting software also provides high resolution current flow visualization that can be used to support publications, presentations and proposals.
