Soterix Medical 1×1 was developed by clinical researchers, scientists and biomedical engineers to provide all standard tDCS clinical protocols. Current intensity from 0.1 to 5 mA and current duration from 5 to 40 minutes. Stimulation precision and control

The Soterix Medical 1×1 platform is the most accurate tDCS technology available. Built into every 1×1 device are the most advanced monitoring and control systems, updating performance and feedback over 1000 times per second. The fidelity of the stimulation output (signal-to-noise) is maintained throughout the entire stimulation session, even if electrode conditions change. Precise control of the output waveform is essential for pacing effectiveness and safety.

Simple to use – Open-Panel ™

In developing the 1×1, feed-back from leading clinical centers was clear: stimulation must be simple to program and its status must always be apparent to the investigator. With a simple press of a button to set stimulation duration and intensity, and back-lit status displays visible in dim or bright room light, the Soterix Medical Open-Panel™ design takes the guess work out of the stimulation.

Characteristics

Every Soterix Medical 1×1 feature was developed by our team of biomedical engineers, in partnership with leading clinical centres. Designed for simple setup, provide intelligent warning of a fault condition, and allow adjustments for patient comfort, these features facilitate reliable, tolerated tDCS. The Soterix Medical SmartScan™ feature is central to all tDCS devices to enable reliable setup and monitoring. RELAX™, Tickle™ and TrueCurrent™ innovations were developed for tDCS 1×1.


SMARTscan

Provides a continuous visual indication of lead quality before and during stimulation.

From pre-stimulation setup, during stimulation monitoring, to post-stimulation confirmation, the Soterix Medical SmartScan™ feature provides an intuitive and clear indication of electrode contact quality. Use SmartScan™ during setup to adjust the electrodes and main gear for an optimal fit. During stimulation, SmartScan™ provides a constant indication of electrode quality and can be monitored during adjustments (e.g., adding saline to drying electrodes). After stimulation, SmartScan™ confirms a successful attempt. As "resistance" is not significant for tDCS, SmartScan™ was developed by Soterix Medical engineers to provide clinical investigators with an easy-to-read indication of contact quality.


TRUE CURRENT

It clearly indicates the actual current delivered at the moment.

What other devices promise, the tDCS 1×1 delivers. The backlit display can be monitored during acceleration of stimulation to confirm that the desired current intensity has been achieved.


TICKLE

Can be used to deliver a very weak current before tDCS to help condition the skin.

Tickle™ can be used to condition skin prior to tDCS and for naive individuals who are anxious about stimulation. A custom on-off waveform pattern generates a light, brief sensation under the electrodes.


TO RELAX

Allows clinician to use sliders to temporarily decrease or increase current from preset value, e.g. based on subject feedback.

Based on feedback from leading clinical centers, Soterix Medical's unique RELAX™ feature accommodates individuals who may be anxious when stimulation is initiated or during the course of stimulation. The RELAX™ level can be adjusted from full to reduced intensity based on the subject's perception, without interrupting or aborting stimulation.o.


AUTO SHAM

Simple and smart sham waveforms.

A simulated automatic stimulation feature that is activated via a simple switch. Auto-sham calculated automatically and outputs a sham waveform based on the "real" waveform entered. For example, for a corresponding real waveform of 1.5 mA and 10 minutes. auto-sham will ramp up/down to 1.5 mA at the start of stimulation, and again after 10 minutes, with the timer automatically adjusted so that the total run time exactly matches the real case. Based on the Soterix Medical Open-Panel™ design principle: no complicated programming or hidden drop-down menus required.


toDCS

Transcranial oscillating direct current stimulation.

Order this special mode for the only devices designed for accurate modulated direct current stimulation. toDCS includes all the features of the standard 1×1 tDCS, but only provides oscillating direct current waveforms. Most.


LTE-CT

Limited total energy for clinical trials.

Same advanced power management system used in 1×1-Clinical Trial devices, available only by special request in 1×1-tDCS. CT-LTE provides a unique power and voltage limited technology exclusive to Soterix Medical. For conventional LTE, limited to 1.5 mA, use the 1×1-LTE tDCS model.


⁺EEG

Lowest noise tDCS device ever for combination with EEG recording.

Only available by special request, the +EEG mode on the 1×1-tDCS is a unique device specially designed for combination with EEG recording. All standard 1×1-tDCS devices already provide industry standard accuracy and low noise output control. The 1×1-tDCS +EEG mode is a unique product only for EEG application where "floor level" noise is required from the simulator for theoretically maximized EEG S/N. Monitoring technology compatibility

With increased interest in using monitoring such as EEG, PET, MEG, eye tracking, NIR and fMRI in conjunction with tDCS, Soterix Medical remains the only company with the technology and experience to ensure a successful integration. Stimulation generates artifacts in all monitoring modalities, including fMRI (Antal A et. al 2012), so using technically compatible devices without also integrating rational assay design can lead to erroneous results.

Optimizing lead assembly for brain targeting and individual subject customization has never been easier than with Soterix Medical's Neurotargeting software. Recognizing that placing an electrode "over" a target does not support rational tDCS design, the Soterix Medical Suite of software tools allows for simple, automatic optimization. Soterix Neurotargeting software also provides high resolution current flow visualization that can be used to support publications, presentations and proposals..
